jQuery Presentation

jQuery is now the single most popular JavaScript library for building Ajax applications, having recently supplanted Prototype as the dominant toolkit. In the next of the ongoing series of ICCI "Brown Bag" lunchtime seminars, Marty Hall will give a fast-moving introduction to the basics of jQuery. He will start with a quick summary of jQuery installation and the jQuery selector and DOM manipulation libraries, then give details on the main jQuery Ajax functions. He will also briefly compare Ajax support in jQuery to some of the other popular JavaScript frameworks.
The seminar will run from 11:30-1:00 pm on Monday June 22 at the ICCI offices at 135 National Business Parkway. It is open to all KeyW and ICCI employees. Pizza will be provided.
The seminar is taught by Marty Hall, head of coreservlets.com (ICCI's training division). Marty is the author of 6 popular Java EE books and has taught seminars and short courses on Java, Ajax, and GWT in dozens of US venues and six foreign countries. He also directs the Java and Web related concentration areas in the Johns Hopkins part-time graduate program in Computer Science.
