Service-Oriented Architectures

According to the Gartner Group, within three years over 80% of large-scale applications will be implemented with Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA). ICCI engineers provide significant experience in the technologies underlying SOA implementations including SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI. UDDI registries are designed and managed to register available services and facilitate dynamic discovery.

SOA deployments on a large-scale can result in a flexible environment that is impossible to manage. Governance from a policy and security viewpoint is essential for success. Governance is applied using custom code or products including AmberPoint to apply security rules, content-based routing, and provide fault tolerance. Services are secured with a combination of SSL, SAML tokens, and Amberpoint proxies.

Asynchronous services in conjunction with rule engines and complex event processing (CEP) enable advanced SOA systems with unrivaled flexibility. ICCI has evaluated and/or implemented CEP systems utilizing JBoss Rules (Drools), TIBCO Business Events, and solutions from AgentLogic.
